AnnaNicoleSmith The Trouble with Angels (woodnotwood)

Tricia writes:

The recent death of Anna Nicole Smith got me thinking of the glamour girls of the past. Under every pair of tight fitting hip-huggers, every pair of cowgirl boots or mukluks, there lies a little bit of the movie vamp inside every girl. Underneath our t-shirts is a tight dressed, stiletto heeled vixen just waiting to jump into a tit clenching bustier, outrageously extravagant heels and saunter through a room while every male stops in mid-sentence and completely loses his train of thought.

It seems like there are so few of the real glamour girls left now. The tragic, dramatic, flying towards the runway at the speed of sound with no landing gear glamour girls. Jayne Mansfield. Marilyn Monroe. Tabloid fodder and outrageous sexuality were their trademarks. Their stars burned bright and fast; super nova, apocalyptic beauties. (more…)

With major legal issues undecided, Anna Nicole Smith’s legacy could take years to untangle and could leave her baby daughter with millions of dollars or nothing at all.

Smith’s battle over her late husband J. Howard Marshall II’s oil fortune with the family of his son grinds on in Texas. And there is a pending class action suit seeking unspecified damages against Smith and TrimSpa Inc., alleging the company’s marketing of a weight-loss pill with Smith as spokeswoman was false and misleading.

A judge on Friday refused to order an emergency DNA test on Smith as part of a paternity suit involving her infant daughter, but he ordered that her body be preserved until a hearing Feb. 20, attorneys said.

Two men are contesting the paternity of 5-month-old daughter Dannielynn, and experts say the custody decision could determine the child’s inheritance. (more…)

HOLLYWOOD, Florida (Reuters) – Anna Nicole Smith, the small-town Texas girl turned voluptuous tabloid fixture who fought all the way to the U.S. Supreme Court over her billionaire husband’s estate, died suddenly at the age of 39.

Smith, a platinum blonde who grew up idolizing screen legend Marilyn Monroe and gained fame as a model for Guess? jeans and Playboy, was pronounced dead at a Hollywood, Florida hospital at around 2:45 p.m. (1945 GMT) on Thursday.

She had been rushed to the hospital after a private nurse — who had apparently been alone with Smith in her room at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino — telephoned a hotel operator to ask for medical assistance.
