A Prehistoric Couple’s Long Embrace

Think you and your sweetie can cuddle for an eternity?
That’s reality for these prehistoric lovers, found in an over 5000 year embrace after archaeologists recently discovered their remains in Mantua, Italy.
Says Elena Menotti, the lead archaeologist behind the dig:
“As far as we know, it’s unique,” Menotti told The Associated Press by telephone from Milan. “Double burials from the Neolithic are unheard of, and these are even hugging.”
It’s impossible to know what led to this couple’s demise, but it’s certainly a testament to the transhistoric nature of some powerful human emotions.
