A Message from Magdalena of ‘Myths and Metawhores’
Feb 1st, 2025 by Viviane
My decadent friends,
Despite my best efforts, after 6 months of repeated hacking, I lost my site today. I don’t have the heart to even contemplate any form of restoration at this point. Weary with the cold faceless cyberworld, I am heading for the warmth of the sun. God bless last minute travel deals.
I will continue writing and will revive Myths and Metawhores, but when and how that will happen, I cannot say. I care little for the current climate, which has seen an ugly turn towards ‘career blogging’ and real life overspills. I know I’m not the only blogger on the sharp end of harassment. I also don’t want anyone else to endure all I’ve had to, so please, to everyone I say be mindful where and with whom you place your trust. Once again, I urge all writers to secure their site; WordPress users be especially keen to install the latest upgrades as a vulnerability in the script is looking like the way my site was first accessed.
I’m looking on the bright side and can’t help but smile when I look at my travel case, stuffed as it is with books and bikinis.
Stay wild, be beautiful and relish your real life.
With my love,
Magdelena
Your site was not hacked.
Apparently it was a subaccount under Nina’s account, and when her host
deleted Nina’s account for repeated violations of the terms of
service–abuse of others, obscene and threatening language, threats of
physical violence–your account was terminated as well.
Write to the service provider, who will be able to restore your own
site, which was never involved in any way with the stalking and
harrassment of others.
They’ll also be able to confirm the reasons why Nina’s account was
deleted, no matter what lies she has told you or continues to tell.
Anyone at all can write Nina’s old server at bluehost.com and ask if it’s true her site was “hacked”.
To the above anonymous:
What you say is not true. When I discovered Nina’s site was down, there was an “Account Suspended” message. On Magdelena’s site, there was and still is a “403 Forbidden” message. If Magdelena’s site was on a hosted/sub-account with Nina’s account, why wouldn’t they both show the “Account Suspended” message?
Adult content was the criteria with which Nina’s account was suspended. Magdelena also had adult content on her site, so why wasn’t her “sub-account” suspended as well? The “sub-account” in question never existed, that’s why. If it did, her site would be under the same terms of service forbidding adult content.
Here’s proof. No mention of Bluehost at all in the WHOIS record for mythsandmetawhores.com. Nameserver: NS1.WHSRV8.COM. An example of an actual “sub-account” would be my old site (now dead). It was hosted on a sub-account of my Dad’s account, which is hosted by ixwebhosting.com. Nameserver of fredtyler.com: NS3.IXWEBHOSTING.COM.
Summary:
1. Different error messages.
2. Only one site was suspended though both had adult content.
3. No evidence for Magdelena’s site being on a sub-account of Nina’s.
Correlation does not imply causation. Magdelena’s site was hacked, not suspended by Bluehost. Her site and Nina’s site going down around the same time (due to different causes) is a coincidence.
Wishing Everyone Would Realize Hatred Is Pointless,
Gary
“abuse of others, obscene and threatening language, threats of
physical violence”
I’ve never read a bunch of bullshit in my ‘blogger’ life as I have above regarding Nina’s site.
These days if a person discusses the harassment they receive, then they’re accused of being abusers by the abusers on the other end.
Puhlease!
and an anonymous comment too.
How typical.
Ladies and Gentlemen,
I’m at ease with all that has happened, but I have one request. Please do not subject the demise of my site to the indignity of postmortem, allow it to just melt and crumble away. I would rather you hold fond memories of Lena.
Some clarification then, so we can all move on.
Myths and Metawhores is not and never has been a subdomain of Lazy Geisha. I don’t host with bluehost, primarily because of their policy on nudity. If you take the time to read the terms and conditions laid out by Bluehost, you’ll see why Nina moved her site. I shall stress this, my site going down is not related to Nina’s move.
The WHOIS details now made public are not mine so don’t bother picking up the phone or putting pen to paper, the information is way off base.
My writings are safe, I’m cool but more than a little weary of being played as a pawn. Whatever disagreements individuals have between themselves is their business and I have maintained good relations throughout. Naturally I have at times felt compromised but essentially my impartial stance has been respected. My hope was to mediate and move this towards some kind of resolution but I fear that time has passed. The remote nature of this world is especially tricky because it’s not something that you can verify. Duplicity is easy in such shadows.
Have I been betrayed? Perhaps, but that is between me and them. I am very grateful that people have gone out of their way to help me over the last couple of days. Your mails and support remind me of the reasons I persisted with my site.
For me then, I ask that the scapegoating ceases. Leave Nina alone, we are in touch and we will make sense of this in our time.
May I also extend my apologies to Viviane, who was kind in posting my original words here. Although it doesn’t show (due to a problem I am having with Blogger), I am still a member of the Carnival and know how much work V has put into this place. Don’t use or abuse it in my name. While you may feel angry, hurt or bemused, please respect this space.
If you can, view these events through kinder eyes. At some point someone has to say enough and truly I think it is time to let the past go. If my site is a sacrifice towards that, I am content.
And that’s all she wrote.
I’m not going to accept any more comments on this post.
Thank you.
Magdalena’s beauty will stand above all the bullshit that is left behind when the door finally slams shut.
