During the course of its premiere Sundance screening, in countless psychiatrist offices everywhere, there are people describing their fear of vaginal dentata, the belief that women have sharp teeth lining their vagina. I can’t say with certainty if anyone with that fear was sitting in the audience watching actor-turned-filmmaker Mitchell Lichtenstein‘s “Teeth,” a silly, splatter movie about a teen girl with G Spot canines. But there were enough screams, as well as nervous laughs, to conclude that everyone has some queasiness when it comes to bodily fluids and orifices. If Lichtenstein’s aim with his mixed-bag horror comedy was to bring the fear of vaginal dentate to life, he succeeded fantastically. As far as achieving the perfect balance of comedy, horror and coming-of-age satire, Lichtenstein comes up slightly short. Still, to his credit, he set his bar very high. (more…)

On the blog, the past two months have been about learning about ecommerce and tweaking the template. I’ve signed up for a bunch of affiliate accounts and putting up galleries. It’s pulling in a lot of of new visitors.
At Chelsea Girl’s invitation, I’ve signed up with Blogads to sell some advertising space on this blog. If you’re an advertiser, rates are extremely reasonable – only $10 a week, $15 for two weeks, and $20 for an entire month. We are receiving 4-6,000 visitors a day. That’s a lot of eyeballs!
The ad runs near on the top right of every page on the site, so it will be seen whether a viewer comes to the home page or links directly to an article. It takes about five minutes to set up an ad like the one you see at right — just click on the “advertise here” link, and off you go! Once I get notice of your interest and approve the ad — I reserve the right to reject any ad I deem incompatible with my values (or those of the Carnival) — you’ll see it on display.
