Matt and Khym: Better Than Ever (2007)
Director- Tony Comstock
Studio- Comstock Films
Cast: Matt and Khym

Tony Comstock does it again with “Matt and Khym: Better Than Ever”.  Although I began reviewing Comstock Films with their latest: “Bill and Desiree” [my review], each film I have seen since then has amazed me.  You would think that using the same formula over and over would get boring, but Comstock’s films are always arousing, intimate and beautiful, and each cast of lovers so diverse that there is always something new to enjoy and experience.  It is the lovers: their different stories, personalities and relationships; that make each Comstock film unique and stand-alone.  And, while you may think, seen one, seen them all, nothing could be further from the truth.

Matt and Khym met with Khym just out of high school and Matt in his early twenties.  Now, in their thirties, they rediscover the sizzle and attraction that first drew them together to find that sex and intimacy are even better than it was before.

Matt and Khym are a very down-to-earth, sweet, compassionate couple.  Not only do they care deeply for each other, they show great kindness to others by populating their home with “strays”.  Because of this they have given up their privacy for many years to shelter others with their love and kindness.  Now, instead of hiding behind closed doors, or having sex in cars, Matt and Khym are free to enjoy their lovemaking openly and rediscover their “2nd Honeymoon.”  They invite you to take “a little peek into their bedroom.”

What starts off slow and sensual with loving caresses soon heats up into a passionate scene of erotic love.  Matt and Khym’s sex scene is intimate, compelling, sweet and erotic.  What I enjoy most about Comstock films is that the lovemaking is always about mutual pleasure, unlike so many porn films that are focused on male desire only.  The men in Comstock’s films are more interested in deriving their pleasure by giving pleasure to their partners and are gifted at making love.

Matt and Khym say they wanted to do this film to show couples that even after years of marriage you can still reconnect with your partner and renew that sexual intimacy.  They encourage others to make sex and intimacy a priority by continuously feeding it.  Matt and Khym: Better Than Ever, is a pleasure to watch solo and even more special to share with a lover.

Xana and Dax: When Opposites Attract (2005)
Studio: Comstock Films
Director: Tony Comstock
Cast: Xana Star and Dax Star

xanadax Xana and Dax: When Opposites Attract

Back in February, I had the opportunity to review Tony Comstock’s latest film: Bill and Desiree [my review], which I absolutely adored.  Today I bring you Xana and Dax: When Opposites Attract, which is the 2nd film in the “Real People, Real Life, Real Sex” series of Comstock Films‘ “explicit documentary-style features of real-life lovers”.

1xnd1 Xana and Dax: When Opposites Attract

When Peggy Comstock asked me which film I would like to review, I checked out the teasers and immediately Xana and Dax just sort-of jumped out at me.  I mean, they are so hot!  A young hip sexy couple who seemed like people I could relate to.

The synopsis describes Xana and Dax as a “study in contrasts” and this is true about their physical appearances.  Xana is the pagan goddess: voluptuous, tattooed, pierced and blonde; while Dax is carved Mahogany, mocha-skinned, lean and agile.  Xana is more experienced and leads Dax through sexual exploration, while Dax is shy and just beginning to build his self-confidence as a lover.

1xnd2 Xana and Dax: When Opposites Attract

The two talk about their initial attraction and what they love about each other, with an emphasis on their physical differences.  Physically, they are not your average “porn stars” and Xana emphasizes to the viewer that “we shouldn’t be ashamed of our body… or our sexuality…”  The interview is juxtaposed with snippets of the lovemaking session to follow, which builds slowly towards the climax.  I really enjoyed watching the interview, as it allows you to get to know the couple a little, before they invite you to share their intimate moment.

1xnd3 Xana and Dax: When Opposites Attract

The lovemaking is slow and sensual, as they anoint each other with massage oil as if it were a sacred ritual.  You can see how much they adore each other and take pleasure in each other’s bodies.  Their passion is very hedonistic and filled with dreamy reverence and moments of dizzying ecstasy.

1xnd4 Xana and Dax: When Opposites Attract

The camera moves in and around them like an extension of their desire, never obtrusive, and you get the feeling that you are sharing their experience.  They are beautiful, sexy and hot to watch.  Ultimately, Xana and Dax, like Comstock’s other films, delivers a much more fulfilling portrayal of sexual desire and intimacy than what you see in the mundane monotony of mainstream adult films.  I highly recommend Xana and Dax for couples to share together.

Thank you to Peggy and Tony and Comstock Films for allowing me to review this sexy, gorgeous award-winning film.  You can purchase Xana and Dax on the Comstock Films website where you can watch a teaser, or through Amazon.com.

Bill and Desiree: Love Is Timeless (2008)
(Real People, Real Life, Real Sex series)
Studio: Comstock Films
Director: Tony Comstock
Cast: Bill and Desiree

billanddesiree Bill and Desiree: Love Is Timeless

I didn’t know quite what to expect when I received “Bill and Desiree: Love is Timeless” by Comstock Films for review.  Would I enjoy watching “older lovers” in their “later years” making love on film?  Well, within the first few minutes my doubts were eased as I watched Bill passionately recount how he and Desiree first met and how he was “blown away” by her “beautiful genitals” in the pre-sex interview.  I was immediately drawn into the film through Bill’s joyful candor and enthusiasm, who is like a school-boy enamored by new love.  I thought: “This is not going to be your typical film.”  And, it definitely isn’t.  Bill and Desiree have much to share with the viewer through their celebration of sex, love and desire, with a few erotic revelations thrown in that might surprise you as well.

Bill and Desiree are an attractive 50-something couple who are recreational naturists and happened to meet at a “clothing optional” event.  Bill is charming, endearing and gregarious; a bohemian poet who is thrilled to be in the prime of his life.  Desiree is exquisite (Bill refers to her as a “Goddess”) with a lovely glowing face, expressive eyes and an animated smile.  You can immediately tell that they are each other’s “soul mates” as they reminisce about their “delirious” love making on their first real date in Sam Taylor Park under the Redwoods where they are stumbled upon by a spotted-owl researcher.

During the interview, they talk about the importance of human touch and how they stay connected through what Desiree calls “a daily nourishment”.  Bill also discusses how mainstream pornography and sexual “how-to” advice can be damaging as it sets unrealistic goals to perform and try to achieve magic every time.  “Peak experiences are just that,” says Bill, “Not every experience is Mount Everest”.  What I learned through watching Bill and Desiree is how accommodating and self-less they give themselves to each other, not always interested in orgasm for themselves, but delighted to give each other pleasure and enjoy what they receive with so much gratitude.  This is the way relationships should be and I have to thank Bill and Desiree for sharing their respect, love and passion with the world, for it is so inspiring and wonderful to see.

Another aspect of their relationship is that they approach their lovemaking as an adventure, constantly trying new things.  Bill laughs as he tells the viewer about Desiree making love to him with her strap-on, then later in the film gives her dildo a blow-job as they giggle blissfully.  They use a lot of variation during their lovemaking scene, switching sexual techniques and types of foreplay with penetration and back again.  This takes the pressure off Bill to constantly perform as their desire gains momentum through sensual valleys and rapturous peaks, building until their ultimate climax.

Everything they do, they do with exhilaration and wild abandon.  They explore their sexual love like children who are delighted and amazed by everything they see and touch.  I had a perma-smile welded on my face as I watched them make love with such tenderness: their smiles, laughter and joy radiating out of the screen to affect me as well.  It was so powerful and beautifully poignant to watch their sweet ecstatic moans and tearful orgasms as they convulsed with ecstasy.

This film could not have been made by anyone else.  Tony Comstock’s camera-style invites you in-close and intimate-focusing on the joy on their faces, the tenderness with which they hold each other’s hands, the gaze in their eyes as they immerse themselves in their shared moment of bliss.  Comstock uses what I call a “haptic” style of cinematography, in that the lighting is soft and muted with a somewhat diffused quality and close-up sensuality that evokes the sense of touch.  Unlike mainstream porn that is glaring, stark and in your face, Comstock’s films seductively roam the bodies of their participants like a lover’s touch, moving in and out of focus, in a way that highlights the physical beauty between two lovers and celebrates sexual intimacy as an art form in itself.  In this way, Bill and Desiree become more than just the components of their sexual moving parts, as their emotional, spiritual and amorous bond transcends the screen.

“Bill and Desiree: Love Is Timeless” is a magnificent film: a sexual tapestry of touch, unconditional love, and vivacious desire.  This film should be a part of the curriculum in Sex-Ed classes and is a must-see for all couples regardless of age.  It will inspire couples how to stay passionate, vibrant and innovative in their approach to love and sex, no matter at what stage they may find themselves on their journey through life.

I opened my email this morning, and got this note from Tony Comstock:

Some bad news here I’m afraid.

I just found out that while I slept, the Australian Office of Film and Literature Classification has informed the Melbourne Underground Film Festival that they will not be given exemptions for about a half-dozen films, including ASHLEY AND KISHA: FINDING THE RIGHT FIT.

Last year our film DAMON AND HUNTER: DOING IT TOGETHER had it’s world premiere at MUFF, and went on to be named Best Documentary. From there it was invited to show at two screenings at QueerDOC Gay and Lesbian Film Documentary Film Festival in Sydney, but the festival was threatened by the OFLC with both a fine and jail time, and QueerDOC elected not to show our film.

More news when I have more news.
