The feds want to shut down adult social-networking sites and invade your privacy!

Sep 3rd, 2025 by Lolita Wolf

Please do some activism on behalf of sexual freedom between consenting adults.  Do it now before September 10th.

The federal government is proposing regulations that would effectively kill adult social-networking sites. This is being done under the guise of fighting child pornography.  The proposed regulations would force adult social-networking services to obtain and maintain personal information about their users, including the user’s photo ID (driver’s license, passport, or military ID).  While this activism is being done by the NGLTF, it affects heterosexuals, too, both kinky and vanilla.

Read more here and send a letter.

It’s good you posted this. It’s not like I want to provide my personal information to Adult Friend Finder or Alt.com!

All of that is just horrible! I don’t want the feds knowing I’m on those sites, nor do I want them shut down!

    Blasted puritanicals.

I sent my letter in, and I’ll do it 1,000 times more if I have to!

The problem is that by writing a letter, one risks ending up on a “watch list” the government might be preparing about the kinky among us.

The end of the dating sites will be premature in my opinion. They will simply have to reconstitute in some other form. And the monied who control the Internet will likely be better prepared to fight this.

I don’t mean to advise doing nothing, it’s just something of a Catch-22 for those of us who require discretion in our kinky sexual activities.

Update: the regulations are aimed at sites that publish sexually explicity photos. Some swinger sites, for example, do not allow posting shots with erect cocks, BJs or penetration. So there are ways around these regulations, not that I support them in any way (the child pornography crusade is just another Bush smokescreen for repressive government intervention).
