Series: ‘5 Questions about Blogging’
Mar 16th, 2025 by Viviane
As some of you may know, I’ll be teaching a workshop at Dark Odysseys’ Spring Fire on ‘How to be a Sex Blogger.’
Here’s the course description I submitted, and what I’m hoping to cover:
What’s a blog? Should I have a blog? What is this ‘blogging’ thing? How do I get on the internets? How do readers find me? Should I write as myself, or under a pseudonym? Come to this introductory/intermediate level workshop if you want to tips and tools for setting up a blog, finding inspiration and writing well and building readership in this highly interactive medium.
In thinking about this workshop, I wrote a number of my blogger pals about their blogging practices, and what blogging means to them:
- When did you start blogging?
- What do you like about blogging?
- Is blogging a major or minor way of connecting to other people for you?
- Where’s your blog? Do you use a free hosted service (Blogger,Wordpress, Livejournal, AOL, Google Pages, etc.) or do you have your own domain and web server?
- What do you do to promote your blog or your writing (using tags in your post, blog roll, del.icio.us, Digg, Pingoat)?
I’ll be posting their responses to my questions as we go along. If you’d like to respond to my questions, please post them in the comments section.
If you’re going to be attending and you have something specific you want covered, please let me know.
