Je suis en arrière la France
Oct 23rd, 2024 by Viviane
I’m back from 10 days in France. I stayed in an ancient farmhouse, which my friend has been fixing up for the past 20 years. This part of France was formerly referred to as Armorica. In a local museum, I was amused to see a reference to King Arthur, and Viviane, ‘an evil fairy.’
We toured the countryside, took long walks on windswept, rocky beaches, looked at early Christian churches and giant rock menhirs, shopped local markets and cooked enormous meals.
I’ve eaten so much butter, cheese and buckwheat crepes avec jambon fromage, I probably resemble a giant tomme myself.
Since I missed Cinekink, and the Damon and Hunter NY premiere, I consoled myself in my Montparnasse hotel room by watching Comstock Productions‘ Marie and Jack.
I also went to hear jazz piano legend Mulgrew Miller. And if ‘michi michi’ is what I think it is…I got propositioned! Ew.
If I’d only been in town a few days later, I could’ve seen Dita Von Teese at the Crazy Horse!
It was great to videz la tete (clear the head) but I am happy to be home, in my own bed, with an English keyboard.
Thanks to my dear colleagues Madeline and Jessica for holding down the fort!
Welcome home!
welcome back darlin’
anyone who doesn’t gain at least a few pounds in france isn’t doing it right i think…
i mean to go and NOT eat the food?? sacrilege!
