i chuckled to myself when i first saw that trash can. the condoms were the quintessential piece of the party. there was an awful lot of fucking tonight. it was a party of fucking. it was a fucking party.
no theme this time. no kink, no fetishes. just a return to some basic man-to-man contact. like a sport, really. like some kind of football game, i suppose- complete with spectators (other guys watching and stroking), cheerleaders (“yeah, fuck him good, manâ€), receivers (myself included), and tight ends. a particularly tight end last night was one of the two bottoms from the “gangbang†theme a couple of months ago. it felt so good fucking him, and i commented such to him. he asked if i would do so with my balls (i guess he had heard about my little trick).

Tim Hulsey, who describes himself in his profile as ‘a Gay, conservative grad student and former writing teacher living’ has a perceptive post about Brokeback Mountain:
The key moment in Ang Lee’s Brokeback Mountain, I think, comes roughly midway in the film. Jack Twist (played by Jake Gyllenhaal) and Ennis Del Mar (Heath Ledger) have reunited after years of separation, and they impulsively, passionately kiss. Unbeknownst to them, Ennis’s wife Alma (Michelle Williams) witnesses the entire thing.
If Brokeback were an ordinary American film, or even a typical arthouse offering, this scene would lead to bedroom farce and sitcom misunderstanding. Certainly Lee’s indie-movie framing, at once immaculately composed and slightly rough around the edges, prompts Pavlovian laughter from audiences at first. But then the director does something unexpected: He focuses on Alma’s pain, and refuses to look away. The camera seems barely to move as she cries uncontrollably, and the audience grows distinctly uncomfortable with its lingering gaze. At this point Brokeback stops cold, and the audience squirms not with boredom, but with visceral discomfort and perhaps even a sprinkling of shame. It is only the first of many instances in which Lee’s film cuts to the bone, challenging an audience’s capacity to respond morally to human suffering.

Full post is here. I saw it with Jefferson, and yes, the movie is all that. I do recommend you see it.

Las Vegas – Lost in the crowd on the Strip among the replicas of world monuments, I never imagined I would also be on display – for my resemblance to an Asian import for prostitution.
Somewhere between the “Empire State Building” and the “Eiffel Tower,” I was stopped twice on a recent afternoon, each time by Anglo-looking men who asked similar questions. They wanted to know where I was from, what I was doing there, how long I was staying. They stared at me like a plump, glistening prime-rib roast centerpiece at a nearby buffet.
There was nothing out of the ordinary about me. I was like all the others milling around, dressed down in a baseball cap and T-shirt, except that I was an Asian woman. When the second guy shoved his business card at me and insisted I call him if I needed anything, I finally got it. I was standing beside a row of newspaper boxes, each window filled with glossy pictures of barely clad women in various “come-hither” expressions. There were several portraits of Asian women, and the ads said they came direct from Korea, Vietnam, China. I stormed off, realizing that these men must have thought I was one of these women.
