Shanghai expected to build memorial for wartime sex slaves (Asian Sex Gazette)

Beijing - After Japan’s non-governmental archives on comfort women opened on Aug. 1 in Tokyo, the first comfort women memorial in China’s mainland is expected to be built in Shanghai.
The site is most likely to be set at the residence of a deceased former comfort woman Zhu Qiaomei, who deceased this February in Miao Township in Shanghai, according to Shanghai-based Dongfang Daily.
The memorial project is still being studied and has not been handed to the superior department, but the results would come clear within the year, Yang Cheng, deputy head of Miao Township. (more…)
